Abstract: The article analyzes the reasons and consequences of the introduction of digital currencies of the central banks of the world's leading countries into the payment system. Based on the analysis, the author of the article systematized information about CBDC implementation projects initiated by central banks, and identified the main risks associated with the introduction of CBDC.
