Abstract: The article describes the formation and development of the scientific school «Sociology of Public Service» of Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor G.P. Zin-chenko. The conceptual foundations, methodology and dynamics of the development of the experience of sociological research on the problems of the modern state civil service are given. The perspective directions of further research in the context of the transformation processes of the modern Russian state and society are presented.
