Abstract: The article is devoted to the theoretical justification of ensuring one of the components of the human capital of the nation – the health of the nation. The article considers the Russian state and international policies on the formation of a healthy lifestyle as conditions for the growth of human potential and the potential of the state. The direct connection between the state policy of physical culture and sports development and the formation of the nation's health capital is emphasized.
