Abstract:
Today, economic sanctions are a rather attractive foreign policy tool, since, unlike war, they are designed to resolve international conflicts and disagreements with lower costs and human casualties. At the same time, international economic sanctions are characterized by a high conflict potential of implementation at the global, regional and individual levels, which leads to an unexpected, often threatening order of implementation of world political processes, undermines stability on the geostrategic lines of the formation of the contours of the modern international system. Taking into account the above, in the course of the study, the specifics and features of the application of economic sanctions are considered in the context of their positioning in modern international relations. Special attention is paid to the principles of economic sanctions, the conditions and prerequisites for their effectiveness.
