Abstract: This article examines the essence of addictive behavior as a social one. The definition is given, the classification of social behavior is considered. The boundaries of addictive behavior are described, as well as its features are revealed. Conclusions are drawn about the study of social behavior within the framework of sociological science in correlation with other sciences.
