Abstract: The article examines Russian poverty in the context of macroeconomic instability and possible ways to reduce its level. It is emphasized that due to the introduction of a significant number of sanctions, the possibility of meeting material and spiritual needs will decrease. The importance of improving programs to support the poor population by the state is determined. Ways to overcome poverty are proposed.
