Abstract: The current geopolitical turbulence, in which our country is located, requires comprehension of several key topics and concepts that are used as the basis for the formation for the formation of Russian-Ukrainian relations, one of such complex concepts is the Donbass. Based on the totality of the theory of political conceptology, cognitive strategies and frames, the article analyzes the specifics and vision of Donbass, identifies groups of the most relevant submissions about the historical features and the current state of the concept of Donbass. The authors come to the conclusion that it is necessary to dive deeper into the philosophical and political discourse of the key ideas and values of the modern confrontation.
