Abstract:
Innovative development is one of the key factors determining the level of competitiveness of all modern states of the world. That is why the use of indicators to assess their innovative potential is becoming a priority task facing the world scientific community. The article discusses the main components that make up the Global Innovation Index (GII) as one of the promising tools for indicative evaluation. Within the framework of this scientific study, the analysis of the regional structure of the largest innovative macro-regions of the world was carried out, and the key features of the leading countries that influenced their ranking in 2022 were identified. The authors have made attempts to identify the strengths and weak-nesses of Russia's innovation policy, which influenced its dynamics in the GII, and also assessed the potential of innovative development of the subjects of the Russian Federation. Finally, the authors have identified a number of patterns that affect the development of competitive innovation ecosystems.
