State and Municipal Management Scholar Notes, 2023, vol. 2, 238-243

Abstract: This article is devoted to the description of the specifics of political competition in the regions of the Russian Federation. The results of the elections to the representative bodies of 85 regions of Russia of the current convocations, broken down by federal districts, are taken as a basis. In addition, the paper gives an assessment of the mixed electoral system in the elections in the regions. It is based on the results of political parties on a single and in single-mandate electoral districts. Based on the results obtained, the difference between the obtained indicators is correlated, which allows us to give a qualitative assessment of the level of political competition within the current electoral system.
