Abstract: Using the example of commemorative practices of preserving the historical memory of the feat of the Azerbaijani people and its contribution to the Great Victory, this article examines the mechanisms and tools used by the national governments of the post-Soviet countries through which national identity is being remodeled. The authors come to the conclusion about the need for a historical and sociological analysis of the remodeling of national identities when building directions for the development of international relations and alliances by the states of the post-Soviet space.
