Abstract: Searching for constructive and just development of a society led many scientists and philosophers to the ideas of technocracy, starting from Plato. In the modern scientific discourse the discussion about potential of technocratic ideas for innovative development of a society is complicated because of both different interpretations of technocracy and dual, from the viewpoint of humanism, meaning of the notion. The author makes a logical conceptual analysis of technocratic ideas from the viewpoint of humanistic approach. In conclusion the author formulates the principal humanistic meanings of technocracy valuable for social projecting and improving forms of innovative development of a humane society.
