Abstract: The article analyzes reasons and consequences of political conspiracies and coups in the history of Russia in XVIII – the beginning of XIX centuries. The author considers problems of loss of authority by the Supreme power during the stated period under preserving absolute monarchy. During XVIII and the beginning of XIX centuries the problem of political reforms was on the issue many times, but it wasn’t solved.
