Abstract:
In the discourse of the philosophy of postmodernism a critical attitude to the products of media culture and to the phenomenon of modern culture as a whole has taken root. Some practices of philosophers of the XX century were aimed at protecting people from the harmful effects of some cultural products. At the same time, in the works of R. Barth, who uncovered the mechanisms of mythology power on the consciousness of a Western man, two interesting concepts appear: Studium and Punctum. And if the first one is responsible for the general cultural and historical background, the second one “bites” the one who looks at it by an imperceptible detail. The authors of the article come to the conclusion that more and more often the so-called “new” series include Punctum in their body, sharpening the attention of their viewers on separate details that break out beyond the boundaries of the general entertaining context. In other words, a peculiar form of philosophical practice is emerging, where a new series takes the place of the philosophical consultant, focusing on a thoughtful reflective viewer.
