Abstract:
Over the last few decades, there has been considerable development in our understanding of the diversity of global hospitality businesses, as a result of applied research following the inductive method of generalization from case studies. This is particularly evident from the increasing interest that the practitioner community shows in collaborating with academic researchers in conducting such case studies. Using these case studies, teaching fundamental concepts like marketing mix, new product development, etc. have become easier for academic researchers, too. This case study explores some of the local and unique business practices that have captured a niche for the service sector in Goa, India.
