Abstract:
In a world dominated by "change and innovation", manifested always and everywhere, which has profound implications for contemporary society as a whole, the speed with which information flows, globalization of higher education, learning and research achievements, universities provide rapid changes in technology in November challenges, so that their traditional role of suppliers of knowledge is constantly changing. The purpose of this article is to highlight the need to implement knowledge management in higher education as a solution for quality and performance of education systems. To achieve this approach in the article were analyzed issued a series of specialists, researchers, industry bodies and competent authorities. The results showed that detached the last places we stand between EU countries in terms of knowledge management implementation in the educational system in Romania, and the university, but the trend is positive, because according to statistics, many higher education institutions submitted efforts in reaching this goal.
