Abstract: Changes in organizational structure, globalization and a different nature of work are just a few factors that had influenced the relationship between employer and employees and the content of psychological contracts. Because of their need for flexibility and higher adaptability to the actual competitive environment, most organizations have adopted a more „transactional” psychological contract in their relationship with their employees. The shift in psychological contracts from relational to transactional, from employment to employability, has major implications for employee’s career, from individual and also organizational point of view.
