Abstract:
This study is aimed at developing an index to allow comparisions for university – industry links across Romania’s major university cities. In terms of this paper, “major university cities are defined as cities hosting at least three university centres. In this way, our index considers 71 higher education institutions in 9 university cities, including the capital – Bucharest. The results of the study point to an unbalanced distribution of universities across the major cities, but also to some high differences in terms of aggregated potential and universities’ efficiency.
