Abstract:
Sociological reflection on medicine and health is based, on the one hand, on the multidimensional reality of the „health" phenomenon and on the other hand, on the old sense of sociology which is, according to its founders, a science of welfare and human freedom. In this respect, the problems posed by the collective management of life and death, of suffering and health, have entered into sociological thoughts even before the medical sociology. In the present paper the authors examine issues related to significant social perspectives on health and disease and the factors that influence health degree.
