Abstract:
In this work it is shown that the role of the knowledge management in organizations is to create a work environment that promotes creation, distribution, storage and use of knowledge. The explicit management of knowledge through distribution and storage of knowledge in different ways, promote the continuous update and development of knowledge, skills and competences, that is to say, promotes learning. In addition, knowledge management encourages employees to share their experiences and knowledge, teaching each other in formal structured activities or informally in the day to day business. In this way, knowledge management facilitates the creation of a knowledge enabling environment that creates conditions for skills and competence development.
