GLOBAL COMPETITIVENESS INDEX REPRESENTATION OF ENTERPRISE PERFORMANCES

Abstract: The objective of this paper is show that exists a relation between the national competitiveness of countries and the on the business performances. This study uses the World Competitiveness Index, developed by the World Economic Forum, and the Turnover per Enterprise is calculated with data from Eurostat Database. The method used is Ordinary Least Squares regression with 28 cross-section representing the 28 member states of the European Union and the time period between 2008 and 2011. The base is addressed to managers, entrepreneurs, specialists, researchers and all interested persons.
