 DEVELOPMENT-MODERNIZATION INVESTMENTS IN THE ENERGY SECTOR OF ROMANIADaniel Moise, Svetlana Platagea Gombo?, Amelia Diaconu, Ovidiu Andrei Cristian Buzoianu and Raluca Iuliana Georgescu Proceedings of the INTERNATIONAL MANAGEMENT CONFERENCE, 2019, vol. 13, issue 1, 1107-1116 Abstract: One of the man’s goals, at present, is the overcoming of the barriers related to the insufficiency of primary energy resources, which cause energy crises in different states, regardless of the degree of the economic development. Throughout the development of society, it has had to face a number of global challenges, including food and water security, energy security, and the maintenance of a favorable environment. The last two issues ensure topicality, as the use of renewable energy sources (RES), namely biomass and solar energy are - non-polluting sources of energy, and provide a favorable environment, hence energy and thermal energy supply of rural localities are analyzed. This article proposes a review of the main management elements regarding investments in the Romanian energy sector, which are certainly essential for sustainability and for economic and social development.
