MANAGING WASTE ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT IN ROMANIA: COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS WITH OTHER COUNTRIES IN EUROPE

Abstract: The paper presents primarily the concept of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) according to the specialized literature and legislation. The objectives of this article are actually the presentation of WEEE situation in Romania and the comparison with that of other countries in Europe. Waste management is regarded and statistically analyzed in quantities of electrical and electronic equipment put on the market, then collected and recycled. As a result of this study, we can conclude that Romania is occupying the last place in Europe in the field of e-waste management, in what concerns the collected and recycled quantities.
