CLUSTERS PERFORMANCE IN THE ROMANIAN AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY

Abstract: Nowadays, we are facing a highlighted interest in developing clusters in the automotive sector with the purpose of successfully using the intellectual capital elements in order to be more efficient and to face the pressure generated by innovation and high costs. Therefore, based on a literature review, this paper starts with general considerations regarding the role and the importance of clusters to the economy as a whole, followed by an analysis at the level of the automotive industry. The main goal of the article is to identify models for measurement of clusters performance in the automotive industry in order to illustrate the efficiency of using the intellectual capital in the Romanian automotive industry. The results presented are part of a more elaborated PhD research, conducted by the authors.
