Abstract: Starting from the Pope’s words “The football is the most beautiful sport in the world, because it brings joy and happiness†, it’s already confirmed that a special chapter in the life of the student community in Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE) is occupied by football activity. Started in the 90’s the football movement attracted from the very beginning an impressive number of practitioners, among whom a number of important names stood out on the field over time. Preceded in their turn by a number of former graduates of ASE who became prominent personalities of the professional football, they all made an important contribution to the creation of a tradition transmitted over time to generations of students, among whom today we can find a fantastic emulation and an attitude from which stand out qualities like loyalty, altruism, teamwork, subordination or defending the team spirit, characteristics due to which we can certainly say that football fully justifies its status as the king of sports in ASE.
