Abstract:
The objective of the review article was to present a brief history of Matveev`s life and explain how the coach should structure Matveev`s micro cycles. The articles were selected in 2024 in 10 databases. The printed books the author used in your library and the printed articles were sent by e-mail to the author by his Italian friend. In 1964, Matveev defended his doctorate thesis Problem of the Periodization of Sportive Training. After the doctorate, in 1965, Matveev`s doctoral thesis was published as a book in the Soviet Union and other countries. Matveev’s book allowed the dissemination of the knowledge of periodization in the world. The traditional periodization of Matveev was created in the years 40 to 70 during the period of the Soviet Union, with most of the contents of this conception being developed in the year 50. In conclusion, the micro cycle is a complex concept because coaches need to know about exercise physiology, biochemistry, biomechanics, motor learning, and sports science.
