Abstract:
The benefits of physical exercises upon the body are indubitable, but beside this practicing a sport contributes to build a moral values system. A sport-man definition indicate a person who exhibits qualities highly regarded in sport, such as fairness, generosity, observance of the rules, and good humor when losing. Unfortunately the simple observation of the sport places, and what is happening on and around them, is enough to demonstrate the contrary. Under the mass media influence sport evolved in a sensational show, and the marketing transformed the joy of participation in a challenge of limits. Fair play is no more of present interes in the professional sport, but it must be promoted in the amateur sport and even more in school’s and university’s competitions and sports events.
