Sport, because of the so obvious competitive element, generates sometimes negative emotions and stress. The emotions manifestation in sports, mainly the negative ones, is a problem of maximum interest both for athletes and coaches. The secret of high performance lies in teaching the athletes to control their emotions and thoughts, especially in extreme situations. This is made by a psychologist and a coach and aims to offer each athlete what suits him: the performance’s motivation; reducing the negative estate of start; fighting stress phases, using either the verbal stimulant (individual conversations) or specific techniques.
