The Correlation between Aerobic Capacity, Strength and Muscular Endurance in Pupils with Visual Impairments and Pupils Enrolled in Mass Education

Abstract: This paper aims to achieve a comparative analysis regarding the motor potential (aerobic capacity, strength and local muscular endurance) of pupils enrolled in mass education and pupils with visual impairments from special schools. The tested subjects attend the courses of two education units, namely the Special Lower Secondary School for Visually Impaired and the Lower Secondary School no. 111. The two education units are located in the Bucharest Municipality. Both categories of subjects are pupils in the lower secondary cycle. The study has for tasks to delimit the particularities of organizing and carrying out the physical education lessons in special education, to highlight the differences and/or the similarities between the two samples, from the motricity point of view, and to record some data referring to the creation of the motor profile of pupils with visual impairments. The research consists of applying some items from the Brockport test battery. This test assesses the physical fitness of young people with disabilities, aged between 10 and 17 years. The authors of the battery underline that, regardless of the disability (amblyopia or blindness), the children’s educative performances are affected. The research aims to outline the preferences for the offensive part of the game for the wing players who participated in the last edition of Women’s European Championship, by analyzing the shooting situations that these players have been involved in. As a result of the statistical analysis and research methods used, it could be detected that wing players preferred the throws from the wing’s angle, both left and right wing having more than 40% of their goals scored from this position. The following preferred action was the fast break. Both wing players scored more than 24% of their goals after in kind of actions. For the rest of the situations in which a wing player have been surprised the predilections varies from one side of the court to another and the present research points also these issues.
