Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to get a deeper understanding of the role of heritage volunteering in young people's personal and professional development. The empirical research is based on a survey of a sample of 50 volunteers within the National Museum of Romania History from Bucharest. The study indicates that heritage volunteering is important for both individuals and community. Furthermore, the results of the research showed similarities with certain authors' statements mentioned in section Theoretical background. Overall, this research demonstrates the value of heritage volunteering in a society where professional experience and networking are extremely important in finding a job for young people.
