Abstract: The present research aims to investigate the state of development of the transport infrastructure in Romania and the Republic of Moldova, two neighboring countries, one holding the status of European Member state and the other, a candidate state to the European Union. The research comprises three case studies based on different data, documents, and strategies that were analyzed. The research methods used are: the secondary data analysis and the document analysis. The study is descriptive, presenting information related to the development of transport infrastructure in the two countries, as well as important information regarding transport policy and the projects implemented under this policy in Romania.
