Abstract:
In Romania, public information and consultation are performed according to the legislation, during the process of elaboration or revision of urban plans. The local authorities are required to adopt local regulation for public involvement in the development or revision of urban plans. This regulation however, does not state how the public participation will take place in case of financing individual projects included in the urban development plans, or development strategies. The present paper aims to fill this gap, setting out the principles, the means and organizational phases, and also the steps for public consultation for projects developed within residential areas
