Abstract:
The legislation on cultural goods, a framework still in progress, has been incorporated in the recent process of renovation of the public sector, the most significant example of which is the reform of Chapter V of Italian Constitution. The present emphasis on privatization of goods, firms and services — museums in particular — should represent an opportunity to introduce new subjects and operational tools in the administration of such sector, wherever they result to be more adequate, economical and efficient with respect to the previous ones, without affecting, however, the public nature of cultural goods and services.
