Abstract: Scholars in environmental management have called for better grounding of research on corporate greening within established organizational theories. We adapt an established behavioral intent model incorporating factors that empirical research has found to be of particular importance to fostering eco-initiatives. This model better explains employee motivation to perform tasks seen as peripheral to business objectives than existing motivation theories.
