Abstract:
This paper suggests an empirical evaluation of Risk Sharing hypothesis on regional per capita real consumption and income through annual observations over a period of 42 years (1960-2001). Bearing in mind the pre-existing Italian literature we point out new empirical research views: we rethink data aggregation principle trying to reduce probability of not rejecting the null; we detect different dataset frequencies to call attention to different ranks of persistence on regional income; finally, we evaluate regional trend exclusion from long term equilibrium analysis. Results are significantly linked to trend component.
