Isolina Rossi ()

Rivista di Politica Economica, 2012, issue 4, 147-176

Abstract: The purpose of this work is to analyse the cost of unemployment in terms of self-reported life satisfaction in Europe between 1973 and 2002, by taking into consideration demographic characteristics such as age and gender. The structure of the work is as follows: in Section 2 I briefly review the existing literature on the well-being/unemployment relationship; in Section 3 I present the data and the composition of the sample; in Section 4 I describe the empirical strategy and the main results.
