Nord Est 2000-2013: i cambiamenti del tessuto economico

Abstract:
Italian North Eastern regional data on GDP, investment spending, government/public expenditure, international trade and production structure are analysed to extract information on this area’s response to the 2007-2008 shock and on structural changes for the years 2001-2013. Data on GDP trends confirms the flexibility of this region’s economy compared to the dynamics of international trade. International trade data confirms a high degree of openness to international trade and export. The Industry and Services Census of 2011 provides a new picture on the North Eastern region of Italy: fewer enterprises (and workers) in manufacturing, and employment growth in the service sector.
