Abstract:
This study develops an analytical framework for explaining both cross-sectional and intertemporal variations in the pull factors for retail sales. A reduced form equation derived from factors affecting the demand and supply of goods and services is used to explain changes in the pull factor measure. This pull factor equation is estimated for all agriculturally dependent counties and all counties in Nebraska for the years 1975, 1980 and 1985.
