Abstract: For the last decade, many R packages have been suggested for performing sample selection according to various sampling designs as well as design-based estimation of finite population interest parameters and of their variance. The goal of this article is to give a brief overview of some of these packages with application on two datasets. A special attention is given to calibration issues.
