Abstract:
In order to adapt industrial statistics to the conditions of market economy and international standards, especially within the EU, a series of notable improvements were realized, for the system of indicators, their calculation methodology and for the system of statistical researches. This paper discusses the improvements in the field of industry statistics, regarding the elaboration and implementation in the national statistic practice of new calculation methodologies for the industrial production index, to measure the evolution of industrial activity, according to EU and UN standards.
