Abstract: The development of the Bucharest Stock Exchange was a positive one during the period 1995 – 2007, being favored by both the macroeconomic evolutions specific to our country and the more and more favorable perception of the Romanian economic entities on the role and place of the capital market in the frame of a modern economic system. The year 2008 represents a baleful period for the capital market in Romania, this one being deeply affected by the effects of the international economic and financial crises.
