Abstract: At the level of an urban area, man is under the conditions of basic clime elements: temperature, precipitations and wind. Due to impurities, numerical growth of population and increase of the consumption of combustibles that, by burning, generate heat, air temperature inside the city suffers modifications. Subsequently, the air temperature should be considered an artificial element. In this paper,we assumed to emphasize if there are thermal differences between two urban areas, of different sizes, in the lower part of the Olt hydrographic basin, that is the cities Slatina and Caracal. The thermal differences between cities and/or surroundings are higher as urban areas are higher.
