Abstract: In this article, the authors focus on presenting significant aspects regarding the emergence, consolidation and development of official Romanian statistics. The context in which the statistical offices in Moldavia and Wallachia were established for the first time, and then the evolution stage of the official statistical institution, under the most diverse denominations, to this day. An analysis of forestry and logging is then carried out. There are series of data and graphs that give suggestion and confirm the expressed opinions.
