Formulating Educational Strategies Based on the Reform Plan of Humanities: A Case Study of Payam-e-Nour University of Ilam, Iran

Abstract: The main objective of the current paper is to formulate educational strategies for Payam-e-Nour University of Ilam based on the reform plans of humanities. The statistical population of the study includes 204 participants consisting of professors, staff and managers of Payam-e-Nour University of Ilam, which constitutes a small population; hence the survey method is implemented. The research method is a descriptive – survey approach in which educational goals, internal factors (strengths and weaknesses) and external factors (opportunities and threats) are first identified at Payam-e-Nour University of Ilam using interviews and open questionnaire and then using closed questionnaire these factors are put to evaluation. In order to realize the educational objectives, using a SWOT analysis (alternatively SWOT matrix), proper strategies based on the reform plan of humanities are formulated and proposed. In order to analyze the research findings, confirmatory factor analysis, single-sample t test, and SWOT analysis are used, which finally provide the total of twenty strategies including: seven SO strategies, four ST strategies, four WO strategies and five WT strategies for Payam-e-Nour University of Ilam.
