Abstract:
Using as reference the Knowledge Assessment Methodology, this work makes a comparative analysis of the Mexican and Korean trajectories as knowledge economies. It examines how Korea achieved its transformation from a structure of local impact enterprises to a structure of multinational companies, while Mexico based its economic development in foreign investment. The elements of the analysis are the innovation strategies, education and incorporation of information technologies. These elements comprise the Index of Knowledge Economy.
