Abstract: Within the next two decades American population will undergo sub stantial changes both in size and age structure. Persons in their twenties will increase; those between 35 and 44 will decrease; and those between 45 and 64 will increase. Large increases will occur in the senior citizens age group, and a sharp increase in the number of teenagers and children under 10 may be expected.
