Abstract:
In light of the constant interaction between local jails and state prisons, a discussion of jail crowding is essential to understanding prison crowding. This article examines the multitude of issues related to jail crowding. The specific causes of jail crowding and numerous solutions, many of which are directly relevant to prison crowding, are discussed.
