Building the Data City of the Future

Abstract:
This article examines government’s opportunities and challenges as it relates to the use of data as the key strategy to prepare cities for the future. It examines what is possible when twenty-first-century data management practices are effectively implemented in city government. The article offers examples from real-world implementation and service delivery and provides tactics and strategies that will prime cities for the next transformative era in technology.
