Should the Government Regulate Prophets? Methodological Problems with Research on Faith-Based Economic Development

Abstract: This research note provides some challenges and lessons for doing research on faith-based economic development. Research challenges include sampling, access, and measurement issues. Future research should focus on attaining larger and more representative samples, exploring alternative research methodologies, and standardizing definitions and indicators.
