Abstract:
The largest scale econometric model developed to date for any metropolitan area and city, namely the GOTHAM model of New York City and the greater New York-New Jersey region, is described in this article. The description is brief, and nontechnical. Economic development policy and forecast applications in which the model and data base have been employed are summarized.
