Abstract: Due to an administrative error the first draft of the joint editorial page was inadvertently sent to the publishers unseen by either the Guest Editor (Dr. R.J. Harrison) or the permanent Editor (Dr. Sonja Boehmer-Christiansen). In light of this mistake the decision has been made to reprint the whole page. Please accept our apologies for this oversight.
